Question for you/me,

Do parents live through their children’s sporting achievements. My son’s team won the 2nd tier championship this year in PeeWee select hockey. He was out with a knee injury, in fact he has a game this weekend to see who will come in 2nd place overall. (this is out of about 60 teams, I’m pretty proud) I know he cares, but he doesn’t seem to be that upset about it. Is it me who is pushing him to this? Is it me, that’s becoming a hockey father? I know my son won’t make the NHL, I know he doesn’t have a chance in hell of a hockey scholarship, I don’t care. I want to see competitive spirit in him; I want to see him strive to be the best he can be. What I get is a blank stare and him being more interested in playing his Xbox. I was his house league coach this year, we tried hard. Not last place and not first, but when he played for me he gave me his best.

Both my daughters play hockey, one is a goalie, the other is just learning. They both like to skate, they both seem to be having fun, I can’t believe the goalie (Barbie doll queen, but no fear of taking a puck off the face) The little one is going to be the competitive one. I like spending the time with them, I like teaching them.. I think I’m closer to all three of them because of it. I hope I don’t lose this, my wife wants to put the little one in Gymnastics. She is good, very small and very flexible.. she probably would make a very good gymnast, but I would lose my time with her. Is this selfish? Does my wife want to live through the little one as I do with the older two?

Is this all really what the kids want to do? We ask them and we register them, we take them. We give them a choice of whatever sport they want to do. The only thing they have to do is to take swimming lessons. So do we live through are kids, aren’t we supposed to. Isn’t this the whole idea of having kids.

What better to end this than with today’s find. What a bland image I am.
http://rhizome.org/artbase/24114/myData/

Anyway, its the weekend, hockey / lacrosse and gardening .. what a better way to spend the weekend .. have a good one.

Ramblings

I find it hard to write some days. Its more fun to play with the code behind this and get it looking like I want. Forgot how much fun it was to create something.

Not so paranoid anymore .. I decided to say fuck it and not worry. So I'm at work right now, made a bunch of phone calls that aren't going anywhere. I guess this is why I'm feeling that my life is wasted. What have I produced that means anything. I know, 3 great kids, a marriage that has lasted and looks like it will last. (heck when we get a chance to make love its pretty good, if I can stop coming so early. I don't know should I masturbate more or less.) So I've done alot with that side of my life, but what about the side that needs to feel self worth in its job. I don't know does your job make you who you are?

I have a need to be more creative. I have do something. I've started taking TaeKwanDo, it makes me feel good physically (it really feels good to kick and punch someone), but I mean more creative artisically. I garden, its fun and makes me proud when the colours come out as I want them, but I want to create a work of art or write a novel. Something that will last.

Take a look at this guy, this is what I mean when I say I want to be more creative.

Paranoid

My job is making me feel paranoid ... what do I do .. I'm yelling at people because I feel like people are watching what I'm doing ... this sucks ..

http://grant.robinson.name/projects/guess-the-google/ How could anyone get almost 400 points .. maybe if I did some work I wouldn't feel paranoid. Have a life, enjoy ..

admit a secret .. http://postsecret.blogspot.com/

Haven't felt like writing lately .. kind of felt out of sorts .. I guess you could say I felt like a asshole for thinking what I write might be interesting to someone else. Then just now I had a "oh fuck this shit" moment and decided this isn't for any one but myself. This is for me .. I will write when I want to and post what I want to ..

I always thought I had the worst luck with jobs, well now I know that I don't ..

http://www.channel4.com/history/microsites/W/worstjobs/index.html

Its not worth complaining ... all I have to do is call people .. at least I don't have to make violin strings.

Hawkins: They *broke* the chalice from the palace?
Griselda: And replaced it with a flagon.

Griselda: With the figure of a dragon.

    2nd day

What to write about. People always seem to write about exciting things on their blog, but it so hard to put down a single idea.

Am I doing this for myself, showing me that my life doesn't suck as much as I think it does? Or am I trying to grab my 15 seconds of fame. When we were young we thought that we were the centre of attention. Didn't you want to be famous? Didn't you want to be the Star? Well here I am at the half way point in my life and I almost want to say, is that it. Am I really a nobody? Does it get any better? I guess it does, but you realize that your not famous, that your one of 6 billion people on a earth who matter to someone else.(I hope, I've been married to her for almost 18 years)

God I think I sound like a whiner.

Life is exciting, I coached house league hockey for the first time this year. I think I did ok, learned how to deal with other peoples kids. Had fun planning strategy, even more fun when I realized they listened to me. Got called a Cheater by some parents. I had fun, we didn't lose to many games and we weren't in last place, so hey it was fun.

More later ... if you want excitement take a look at
