Did you ever feel you needed a hero?
When I was a kid I did. I had two. One I never met, William Avery Bishop.
The other, Bucko McDonald.
Bucko was my hockey and lacrosse coach when I was a kid. Bucko played in the NHL (Stanley Cup 1936, 1937, 1942), and Pro Box Lacrosse for the Brampton Excelsiors in the 30's and the 40's, he became a member of parliment for Parry Sound in the in the late 40's and 50's and he even had time to be Bobby Orr's hockey coach.
What a guy Bucko was. He took time with kids all over Parry Sound and Muskoka. He taught us how to play the games he loved and how to be better people.
Just want to say thank you Bucko!
